Great Ocean Road: Day 3

On our third day on the road, we woke up in sunny Apollo Bay. Our first stop right after breakfast was actually ice cream! We were recommended to go here since they do Vegemite ice cream... safe to say this wasn't for me but was interesting nonetheless! With all those interesting flavours on offer I went for mango chilli flavour ice cream. It was delicious but weird to eat cold ice cream and then have a hot throat!

After very much confusing my mouth, we headed on to continue adventuring. We found ourselves in this rainforest walk with even more stunning scenes.
Our next stop was Gibson Steps and Twelve Apostles. Again, I could help but wander at the fact that the rainforest landscape was so close (even in the same state!) as the beach landscape. It was such a hot day with a clear blue sky, it was difficult to tell the difference between the sky and the turquoise blue sea.
The Twelve Apostles were incredible to see too, even though there are only 7 of them left. The day was scorching by this point, and the amount of flies was very annoying. Plus, although Twelve Apostles was amazing, it was by far the busiest and most touristy place we went to.
(Peep the fly on my chin, they were literally everywhere)

We then took the long hot drive to Port Campbell, a town with a small beach in a bay. It was lovely to spend time on the beach while we could still sit on the grass. We all really appreciated being able to cool down in the beautiful clear water, and we messed around standing on each other's shoulders in the sea.
We were all very hot and tired by this point so we went to our hostel over in Port Fairy.
After showers and a rest, a few of us decided we wanted to go and watch the sunset on the beach. We missed the actual sunset but we hurried down there to see the beach at the end of the day and watch it get dark. It was another great time to see the stars on our way back; I could really never get tired of seeing all those stars.
