The Best of Both Worlds
After having been working in Brisbane for three months now, I'm very much looking forward to getting back into backpacker life.
Saying that, I have recently been really enjoying the balance of my working holiday. I've been able to continue to earn money for the next leg of my trip whilst also enjoying spending time in Queensland with lots of mates I've made since being here.
I feel blessed enough to say I've had the best of both worlds; enjoying the perks that come with living here as well as fun times and travelling. Having a big room and bed to myself, all my stuff being in one place, and eating delicious food every night is a far cry from hostel life, and yet I'm still able to enjoy backpacker life on the weekends, partying with my mates and seeing more of beautiful Queensland. And there's so much to see! I couldn't be happier that the restrictions have eased enough so that we can travel as we please within the state to see gorgeous beaches, mountains, lakes, national parks, and so much more during my time off.
I realise this all makes me very lucky and I can only hope that covid restrictions will continue to be able to ease as planned so I can get back to travelling.
And it seems that this dream isn't as far off as you might think. I'm beyond excited to say I've got some travel plans! In three weeks, I've got some time off with the family to go on a road trip up the East Coast. I've got a campervan booked with my lovely friend Ryley from Canada who I met in Sydney.
Our route will be from Fraser Island up to Cairns, staying in the campervan on campsites and hopefully some free camping too. I'll then fly back down from Cairns to Brisbane to work with the kids again, to save some more money for the rest of my trip.

can't wait for our trip Ryley!! x
I love road trips and one of the best things I've done in Aus so far was the Great Ocean Road trip, so I'm very excited to get back on the road. I'm also looking forward to finally complete my east coast trip and knock a few of the things off my bucket list that are so important to me along the way. Plus, this means I'll be away for my 22nd birthday on the 13th!
Can't wait, bring on the next adventure!
