Time to Leave Brisbane

Just a little update on my plans and what will be happening in the next few weeks. There seems to be a lot of change in the air at the moment.

My time with the family has now (almost) come to an end. I've enjoyed being here so much, I've been so lucky to find such a great family and I absolutely love the kids. I'll always find a home here and I'm sure whenever I'm in Brisbane in the future I will come and visit. I can't express my gratitude enough for the last 4 months and I'll always remember my time here.
My last day is Friday and then I'll be leaving on Saturday for my big road trip up to Cairns with Ryley.
Once I'm back from the road trip, I'm due to work another week with the kids. I'm hoping to use this opportunity to recharge my batteries as well as earn a little bit more money.
When I leave, my plan is to start looking for farm work! (For those of you that don't know, backpackers on a working holiday visa need to complete 88 days of farm work in order to qualify for a second year visa.) After all this time saying I wouldn't do farm work and I'd definitely be home for Christmas, I've made a complete left turn and I've decided I want to stay a second year! My staying a second year depends on being able to complete my 3 months before my visa runs out, which is why I need to leave and get this done asap.

For me, it's about taking risks rather than playing it safe. Yes, I'm nervous to start farm work, but it would have been the safe option to not do it, and sometimes you need to take risks that pay off. It was a very safe and comforting option for me to stay here, do a bit more travelling at the end of the year, and then be home for Christmas. But I don't want to get too comfortable. I didn't come here for the safe option. I came here to take every opportunity that comes my way, follow my instincts and my heart, and grow in the process. I need to do things that scare me to get the most out of the experience.

But for now, I'm beyond excited to be getting back to travelling beautiful Queensland and crossing off a bunch of things that have been on my bucket list for a long time.

Bring on this change of pace and the next leg of my journey!
